Project Nomkoo

Nomkoo is the elephant resting in front of the Bozeman Public Library. During her six-week stay, the 9-foot-tall, 1.3-ton elephant made of recycled truck tires will promote environmental sustainability, with a special emphasis on teaching children. Nomkoo is the work of South African sculptor Andries Botha. Botha also founded the South Africa-based Human Elephant Foundation, which has 12 elephant statues traveling the world as "ambassadors of sustainability." All the elephants are made from recycled materials such as tires, driftwood and cider casks.link
