There is a dark side of the Moon

a dark side of the Moon The Sun illuminates -around half of the time- every part of the Moon’s surface, (except maybe for some deep craters located near the poles) so there is no “dark side of the Moon”. This phrase uses the word “dark” meaning that there is a side of the moon that is “unknown” because it cannot be seen from the Earth due to tidal locking.
