The Global Warming Swimming Pool: Swimming Above a Submerged City



No, New York is not underwater (yet, anyhow) – that’s a clever ad for HSBC by Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai ad agency in India. The bank wanted to raise awareness of the dangers of global warming, so the clever ad guys glued an aerial photo of a city’s skyscrapers to the base of a swimming pool … the effect of a submerged cityscape is fantastic!Source


Pizza Crop-Circle



If you’re flying in or out of Denver International Airport, look out the window and you’ll see a pizza cut into a wheat field near West 128th Avenue and Pena Boulevard. The crop circle, designed by artist Stan Herd, is a promotional vehicle for Papa John’s Pizza.
The pizza crop circle stands at about the size of six football fields.

Coffee Lamp Post


As part of a national campaign promoting McDonald’s restaurants, a downtown Vancouver lamppost [6th Avenue at Cambie Street] became part of an optical illusion, appearing to pour coffee into a giant cup on the sidewalk.The post was wrapped in brown vinyl to resemble poured coffee, while an oversized carafe was attached to the end.Source

This is video of a billboard in New Zealand that bleeds when it rains. It’s pretty terrifying, but according to the ad agency, there hasn’t been a fatality since.Source


Let there be xenon


To launch the new MINI, with its large array of updated features, among them more powerful Bi-Xenon headlights, a MINI was mounted on the side of a wall. Then 2500 watt lights were placed on top of the billboard which up to the lowers levels of the stratosphere. Source
