Reason for living here: It’s a utopia Shangri-La is a mystical valley in the Himalayas. It is a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. The people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan. The place is so popular that the Nazis sent an expedition out to find it in 1938. Fortunately they didn’t find it!
