- Ellis Gallagher, a native New Yorker, found the simplicity of light and brought the shadows out with a basic chalk outline. Gallagher’s outlines them with chalk–a natural limestone and stone sediment, which become the exacto knife to his shadow stencil installations. Shadows from the night time halogens and the basic rotation of the earth around the sun to cool the surface from overheating, are his main pattern makers. Image credits arrestedmotion.com
