Carl Warner created these amazing foodscapes constructed entirely from fruits, vegetables, meat, cheeses, and breads.

At first glance, these images look like painted landscapes and it is only on second glance that the viewer realises that the scenes are made entirely out of food.

These images can take two or three days to build and photograph, with a couple more days spent retouching and fine tuning the images to blend all the elements together.

Carl Warner’s photographs have been unofficially circulating on the Internet and in mass e-mailings. Now, these images and many new ones are collected in one book. More info about Carl here, and the book here.

“Horsemaning,” or fake beheading, was a popular way of taking pictures in the 1920s and it’s currently experiencing a revival and is basically the new planking. Horsemaning is a photo fad that involves laying on one’s back on a flat surface with the head hidden over the edge while another person hides behind the same object, only leaving the head exposed in the picture. Such photographs are meant to appear as if the person has been beheaded.
